SnipeOS
A complete creative workstation on a light LXQt desktop.
Built on Lubuntu 26.04 LTS. Office, browser, graphics, video, audio, 3D, and games ready from first login.
Three flagships. One performance rule.
SnipeOS replaces the pieces that waste RAM and attention, then ships a full production toolchain on top of LXQt.
- SnipeOffice 25.8
- BOM-first multilingual export, tuned for lower resource use
- Snipe Browser
- Ungoogled Chromium, uBlock in core
- Thunderbird
- Real Mozilla .deb, not a snap stub
- Base
- Lubuntu 26.04 LTS, LXQt desktop
The desktop you see after install
SDDM greets you with Snipe branding. The session is LXQt under the SnipeOS name. Blue rose wallpaper, curated menus, and a stack that was validated screen by screen during the beta.
Everyday work at 2 GB of RAM. Creative floors at 4 GB with an SSD. Tested on a range of older amd64 machines, including offline UEFI installs.

Try before you commit
The ISO is a full live system. Boot from USB, confirm graphics and wireless, open SnipeOffice or GIMP, then install with Calamares when you are ready.
Expect a long pause near 6 percent during unpack. That is normal. Do not power off while the merged system copies to disk.
