Internet and communication

Privacy-first browsing with Google services removed from the binary, real Mozilla email as a native Debian package (not a snap stub), and a light BitTorrent client for large downloads on the SnipeOS 13D image.

Snipe Browser

Snipe Browser is the default web browser on SnipeOS 13D, built on Ungoogled Chromium so modern sites render without Google services compiled into the binary. Lean memory use, uBlock Origin built in, a local-only password store, and Ruffle for Flash-era content are core product choices, not optional story points.

On Debian 13 the browser is wired as the system default and as x-www-browser so desktop links, installers, and help buttons open it correctly. Hardware decode on a real GPU keeps HD tabs far lighter than software decode in a VM. Standalone builds and platform range are documented at snipebrowser.com.

Mozilla Thunderbird

Thunderbird on SnipeOS 13D is the real Mozilla package path for this channel: a native .deb experience on Debian 13 rather than a snap stub. Startup stays direct, LXQt file dialogs behave normally, and account autoconfig still finds IMAP, POP, and SMTP for most providers.

Multiple accounts, search and filters, OpenPGP, calendar, contacts, and feeds make it core communication infrastructure for creators who still deliver work over email. SnipeOS 13D treats that as part of the default desktop, not an afterthought webmail tab.

Transmission

Transmission is the light BitTorrent client on SnipeOS 13D: a clear transfer list, encryption, selective file download, speed limits, scheduling, watch folders, and an optional web UI for headless boxes.

Large open datasets, public domain media, independent game drops, and Linux ISOs themselves are everyday legitimate uses. Limits and schedules keep big transfers polite beside the browser or an OBS session on modest amd64 links.

HexChat

HexChat is a graphical IRC client for joining project channels, FOSS communities, and live support rooms. It handles multiple networks and channels, identity and nick setup, logging, and the scripting hooks power users expect from a serious IRC tool.

On SnipeOS 13D it covers the chat niche that email and web forums do not: real-time conversation with the people who maintain the software you run.

KDE Connect

KDE Connect links your phone or tablet to the desktop over the local network. Shared clipboard, notification mirroring, file send, multimedia remote, presentation control, and SMS replies from the PC are the headline features once a device is paired.

It turns a pocket device into an extension of the LXQt workstation instead of a separate island, which matters when you edit on the big screen and still need the phone within reach.
