MacLegacy/ UA marker
Chromium 124 for Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) through macOS 11 (Big Sur). Separate build path from macOS 12+ (MacLegacy/… in the user agent, --maclegacy), so the newer Mac line can advance without dragging Legacy along.
This is the Mac Legacy build: Chromium 124, version 124.0.6367.207.1, with user-agent marker MacLegacy/124.0.6367.207.1 and launch flag --maclegacy. Detectors route it to this page, not macOS 12+. The UA still spoofs Mac OS X 10_15_7; only the MacLegacy/ token identifies the channel. Confirmed on real boxes including 10.7.5 Lion, 10.10.5 Yosemite, and 10.11.6 El Capitan.
Named versions for search and support. If you are on Monterey or newer, use the macOS 12+ page instead.
Unzip the Legacy package, run Snipe.app (or drag it into Applications). First launch may need a Gatekeeper allow on newer Legacy releases.
Download the ZIP from this page. Double-click to unzip, then open Snipe.app or move it into Applications.
On 10.10+ Gatekeeper may say Snipe is from an unidentified developer. That is normal for a ZIP-distributed app.
1. In Finder, Control-click (right-click) Snipe.app → Open → confirm Open.
2. If still blocked: System Preferences → Security & Privacy → General → unlock the padlock → Open Anyway (appears after a blocked attempt). Set “Allow apps downloaded from” to App Store and identified developers if it is App Store only.
3. On 10.11 El Capitan (and earlier) only: the same General tab still has Anywhere — unlock the padlock, select it, confirm the warning. Apple removed that radio in Sierra 10.12+.

Mac OS X 10.7.5 (Lion) through macOS 11 (Big Sur). This is the MacLegacy channel — not macOS 12+, and not Windows/Linux 140. Package hosted on snipebrowser.com (direct ZIP).

10.7 Lion, 10.8 Mountain Lion, 10.9 Mavericks, 10.10 Yosemite, 10.11 El Capitan, 10.12 Sierra, 10.13 High Sierra, 10.14 Mojave, 10.15 Catalina, and 11 Big Sur. Monterey and newer use macOS 12+.
No. Both Mac channels (Legacy and 12+) are on Chromium 124. Windows and Linux desktop builds are on the 140.x line.
So detectors and update checks do not mix them. The 12+ line can move ahead later without forcing Legacy Macs onto a build they cannot run.
Gatekeeper blocks apps that are not App Store / Apple-notarised. Snipe Mac Legacy is distributed as a ZIP, so this is expected on 10.10 Yosemite and up.
Control-click → Open: In Finder, Control-click (or right-click) Snipe.app → Open → confirm Open. Do this from Finder, not Launchpad.
Security & Privacy: If that is not enough, open System Preferences → Security & Privacy → General, unlock the padlock. After a blocked attempt, click Open Anyway. If “Allow apps downloaded from” is App Store only, switch it to App Store and identified developers.
Anywhere (10.11 El Capitan and earlier only): On those releases the General tab still has Anywhere. Unlock the padlock → select Anywhere → confirm the warning. That allows unsigned apps globally. Apple removed this option from the GUI in macOS 10.12 Sierra; it will not appear on Sierra through Big Sur or on macOS 12+.
