Wine and Winetricks ship so Windows codecs, helpers, and the odd legacy tool can run beside the native Linux stack on SnipeOS 13D. Codec installs are optional and expand disk use.
Wine runs many Windows applications and helpers on Linux without a full VM. On SnipeOS 13D it supports codec installers, legacy utilities, and the odd tool that never shipped a native build.
Prefixes live under your home directory. Optional Winetricks verbs can pull large codec sets and will increase disk use beyond the lean baseline install.

Winetricks automates common Wine verbs: runtimes, fonts, and codec bundles for a chosen prefix. Use it deliberately; large codec metapackages work, but they expand disk use far beyond a lean install.
Use it deliberately. allcodecs-style installs are powerful and heavy; skip them if you only need a single helper DLL on SnipeOS 13D.
